Wa-mono is the Japanese word for traditional Japanese design. But since I am an American living in Kyoto, I call my designs wabei-mono. Wabei-mono is a combination of wa-mono and bei-koku, which is the Japanese name for America. Wabei-mono Designs is my effort to reflect the beauty I’ve encountered during my life in Japan and on my travels throughout other parts of Asia.
